Children's Meeting

Every month on the last Sunday of the month        10.30 - 11.30am

Our Children's Meeting takes place in a warm studio adjacent to the main Meeting Room.  There are facilities for crafts and comfortable cushions for stories.  All our Children's Meeting leaders have gone through full safeguarding checks.  Parents are invited to stay and join in the activities.  Currently our children are aged 6 - 10 yrs plus a baby sister who comes with Mum.

We usually start with a hello session where we share some aspect of our life in the past week.  This will be followed by the theme of the week which is often based around a story which might feature a young person and some aspect of their life which brings to light what it means to be human.

The story is followed by a more active session, frequently involving crafts for which we are well stocked.  We have seen some truly creative work from our children.  For five or ten minutes at the end of the session, the children join in the stillness of the adult Meeting for Worship after which they have a chance to show the adults what they have been doing.

Refreshments are provided.  Parents are welcome to join the Children's Meeting, but they don't have to stay.  And they are always welcome to sit with the adult Meeting, as one child put it, "for a bit of silence".
